New Market Beer & Wine: UMCH’S Newest Supporter

The University of Maryland Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) received a special gift on Friday, September 5, 2014 from New Market Beer & Wine. Pam Ward, New Market’s co-owner, and Gretchen, New Market team member, presented their donation of $1,631 to Joan Treacy, R.N., NICU patient care services manager, in support of the expansion and renovation of the NICU. The University of Maryland Children’s Hospital (UMCH) boasts the highest level neonatal intensive care unit distinction, Level IV.

New Market Beer & Wine, located in New Market, MD opened their doors on Monday, May 12, 2014 and by August 8 they were able to pledge 50% of their proceeds from that day to support the NICU expansion and renovation project. Initiatives like this (from a local Maryland company!) organized by friends and supporters, will bring us one step closer to the completion of the new NICU.
